About
SHANA BOLTIN
I have been working as a children’s occupational therapist since 2006. I have worked in different settings in Melbourne, Australia and London UK. In London I was the lead Occupational Therapist in the Camden School Health Service, Royal Free NHS Trust London UK for over seven years. Working for a one of London's top teaching hospitals, I led a team of more than 10 OTs and OT Assistant Practitioners and pioneered the tiered-based school-based OT in the UK, which has since been replicated in services across the UK.

In addition to the school-based service, I specialised in running an early intervention, Ei SMART clinic working jointly with a physiotherapist. I also worked in CAMHS and have been part of a specialist diagnostic team.

I have now returned to Melbourne where I am the clinical lead OT at a community health service.
I am also the co-founder of OT Applied, a training company for OTs. I adopt a neurodivergent affirming approach to practice.

My interests include school-based OT, working with schools, service development and delivery models, measuring impact, and training and developing occupational therapists. One of the coordinators and authors of the highly successful ‘Introduction to Occupational Therapy for Children, Young People and Families’ course, I have trained over 200 therapists. I have also presented at various conferences across the UK and was part of the VR4Rehab research project team.

I am a member of OT Australia, the co-convenor of the OT Australia Coaching Special Interest Group and a registered supervisor on the Australian Paediatric OT facebook group. I am also a member of the School-Based OT International Network.
